Petroleum

It is the major and essential resource utilized in every country. It is also called liquid gold, fix the economic background of the country. Industry involves in petroleum production increasing day by day. The crude oil is the god of petroleum from which each and every component like petrol, diesel, kerosene, lube oil, tar and waxes are obtained. The petroleum industry is involved in the global processes of exploration, extraction, refining, transporting (often with oil tankers and pipelines), and marketing petroleum products. The by-products like sulphur and other substances are also derived from petroleum. Geologists view crude oil and natural gas as the product of compression and heating of ancient organic materials (i.e. kerogen) over geological time. Formation of petroleum occurs from hydrocarbon pyrolysis, in a variety of mostly endothermic reactions at high temperature and/or pressure. Today's oil formed from the preserved remains of prehistoric zooplankton and algae, which had settled to a sea or lake bottom in large quantities under anoxic conditions (the remains of prehistoric terrestrial plants, on the other hand, tended to form coal).
